Welcome Back, Colleagues!
Who would’ve imagined a year ago that I would be writing this message as our world is in the midst of a pandemic? We have watched everything we know completely change overnight. We have changed the way we interact with each other, including our loved ones, friends, and even strangers on the street. We watched as our living rooms, kitchens, backyards, and basements became our classrooms. We watched as our students became small faces on our computers when we could no longer meet face-to-face. We watched the world as we’ve known it turn completely upside-down.
What has not changed is our love for what we do as professionals. We have continued to love our students. We have remained resolute in our dedication to providing the best education possible for all of them. We taught under the most difficult and trying circumstances, and today we are more committed than ever to doing whatever we can to ensure our students achieve in spite of.
We know, yet again, it won’t be easy. Our students, like us, have been through so much. But, with a willingness to continually work on becoming better versions of ourselves each day, we know that even in the midst of adversity, we shall rise. Our students shall rise. Our community shall rise. Hackensack shall rise.
I wish for each and every one of you a wonderful school year. See every obstacle as an opportunity to learn and grow. See every challenge as an opportunity to reinvent yourself. Love life, stay safe, and choose to see roses among the thorns.
Together, we shall get through all of this.
